The U.S Department of Veterans Affairs has partnered with the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the American Student Council Association to organize the End Veteran Homelessness Challenge. The goal of this partnership is to help veterans obtain affordable housing and everyday household essentials. In October, student councils at participating schools across the country began competing with each other to raise the most money and collect the most household goods and clothing to benefit homeless or at risk veterans. The funds collected by the schools will go toward the cost of helping homeless veterans move into safe, stable housing. For more information, read the VA VAntage Point Blog.
