The Department of Veterans Affairs announced that the subsistence allowance paid to veterans enrolled in the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program would increase on Oct. 1, 2019. The program provides counseling, training, education and job placement assistance to veterans with a VA disability rating and an employment handicap. For fiscal 2020, there will be a 2.04% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) to the monthly subsistence benefit paid to eligible trainees using the program. See the new rates on Military.com.
