Casting Call: We Know you Want a Home Makeover

Share

It happens more often than I care to admit: I sit in my house watching those shows where people win free stuff – renovations, makeovers, etc. – and I think “that could be me.”

But the crazy thing is that it really could. Or, instead, it could be you. Here’s how:

Some folks at a friendly casting company are looking for a military family for a new home renovation show headed for HGTV. The show is not going to focus exclusively on military, but they want a military family for the pilot episode. As usual with this kind of thing, they are looking to fulfill some pretty specific requirements. But these are a little more broad than we’ve seen in the past, so I think one of our readers has a pretty decent shot at getting on this.

They are looking for:

- A military family going through a deployment right now with pre-teens/teenagers at home.

- Someone in need of repairs or renovations (and preferably owning instead of renting, obviously)

- Living in the South

That’s pretty basic. They need someone by November 9 – not very far from now. We also talked to the casting company to make sure this episode is not going to be a military pity party. They sounded committed to focusing the rennovation on increasing the family's already intense level of awesome empowerment -- not saying "poor military person."

And let us know what happens!
