Iran's New Air Defense Enters Service

The country's defense minister says, with the introduction of Ya Zahra group of anti- aircraft weapons and tactics, low-altitude air threats, primarily helicopters and drones, or low-flying aircraft will have no chance of entering Iran's air space. He said the new system is being mass produced for the country's ground, air and naval forces. In its current design, the new mobile air defense system features an active radar that can provide 360-degree tracking of targets. Its land-based missile system is mounted on a truck, giving effective coverage against fixed and rotary wing aircraft, unmanned air vehicles and air launched missiles.
