Comprehensive Guides Now Feature Mobile Version For Easy Access Anywhere

MCLEAN, Va – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Military.com announced improvements to their Base Guides today, noting they now have guides for all of the top 30 military markets and feature a mobile version of the site.

Other improvements to the product include a new dedicated landing page where readers can find their installation by service branch, location or by name; base directories to find important information; local "Base Talk" discussion forums to find real answers to real questions; and local news and events. All Base Guides are open to the entire military community, including dedicated sections for spouses, veterans and retirees.

Since March of 2011, Military.com has been launching guides on a market-by-market basis and now serves the 30 major military markets with over 100 individual installations. They will continue to add markets and installations on a weekly basis.

Anchoring the appeal of the guides is the ability to post information about the area and engage with other military personnel, veterans and their families online.

Army wife and Military.com’s SpouseBUZZ Editor Andi Hurley, commented on the usefulness of the guide, saying, "This is such a benefit for military families. To be able to do things like talk to servicemembers currently serving in that area, find doctors and learn about local schools in advance of a move; well it just makes life so much easier."

President of Military.com and retired Navy Admiral T McCreary added, "These guides are the result of modern technology meeting the needs of America’s military families. Our goal was to leverage the great camaraderie in the military community and bring that online so folks could get first hand information about an installation before they have orders by talking to servicemembers already stationed at that location."
