McLean, Va - Military.com announced today one of its senior leaders was named as a top influencer on veterans issues on Capitol Hill.
Terry Howell, Senior Director for Strategic Alliances and Editorial Operations for Military.com and a retired Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer, will provide expert testimony to the Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity for the House Committee on Veterans Affairs about the recruitment and retention of veterans in the workplace as well as the role technology plays in today's veteran employment landscape.
Terry Howell was named as a HillVets 100 influencer in the "Businesses Focused on Veterans" category. He is a 20-year veteran of the United States Coast Guard and the Senior Director for Strategic Alliances and Editorial Operations for Military.com. Howell works closely with government and non-profit veterans groups and he regularly briefs members of Congress on veteran employment issues and solutions that leverage a public, private and non-profit collaboration.
This past June, Howell provided expert testimony to the Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity for the House Committee on Veterans Affairs about the recruitment and retention of veterans in the workplace as well as the role technology plays in today's veteran employment landscape.

Howell also worked with the Department of Defense to create content for their online transition assistance program known as TurboTAP and led the team of subject matter experts that developed the skills matching tools for the Department of Veterans Affairs' VA for Vets website. He is also the author of The Military Advantage, an annually updated guide to help service members, veterans and their families take full advantage of their benefits.
