MDM: Sweet New Pants from Under Armour

I'm always on the lookout for tactical pants that aren't over-the-top tactical looking. Under Armour showed off two new models of military-style pants at Modern Day Marine 2012. Both feature an old-school, cargo pant look and a lightweight 60/40 cotton-polyester blend that feels ultra comfortable.

The Duty Pant (unfortunate name) features zippered, hidden document pockets behind the side cargo pockets, rifle mag pockets inside the cargo pockets and an elastic strip built into the waist band that provides an extra inch of give. The knees are also reinforced for heavy use. They are available now and retail for about $70.

The Basic Pant sports the same look and feel as the Duty model but doesn't include the document pockets, mag pockets, elastic waist band or reinforced knees. They should be available in January and will cost about $60.

Both pants are made of a lightweight 60/40 cotton-poly rip-stop material that has been treated with a DWR finish for weather resistance. There is also a dedicated knife/light pocket located to the rear of the right cargo pocket. The Duty model comes in desert sand, black, navy blue and OD green. The Basic model comes in desert sand, black and navy.

I'm not sure how they breath or wear, but I intend to give one or both models a try in the coming months.
