Turns Out That Sean Spicer Is a Dancing Machine

Navy reservist and former White House press secretary Sean Spicer continues to surprise the haters on "Dancing With the Stars." Despite once again getting a very low score from the show's judges, Spicer and pro partner Lindsay Arnold weren't even in the bottom two at the conclusion of this week's show.

Spicer and Arnold went first this week, performing a Paso Doble to "Bamboleo" by Gipsy Kings. The dance step was originally inspired by a Spanish military march, a fact that allowed the judges to connect the performance to Sean's Navy service. Because, you know, all military is the same.

Guest judge Leah Remini was blunt. "Sean is not a dancer, that's very clear," she said. "But what I love about you is that you are committed. You try your best." So, an "A for effort," then.

We can't change the facts: The DWTS judges don't think Sean can dance, but his enthusiasm and commitment have kept viewers on his side. Is his dancing stiff, maybe even a bit robotic? Yes. No one seems to care, aside from the panel. If viewers continue to vote for him, then his team won't land in the bottom two and the judges can't eliminate him.

His partner Arnold has enjoyed a lot of success on "Dancing With the Stars," winning the Mirrorball Trophy in Season 25 and guiding Army National Guardsman, real-life hero and "15:17 to Paris" star Alek Skarlatos to a third-place finish in Season 21.

Former NBA star and former Kardashian husband Lamar Odom got the ax this week, continuing a tradition of poor performances by basketball players in the competition. Odom had been paired with professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd, a two-time winner of the Mirrorball Trophy, but her skills didn't help him advance.

Will Spicer continue to advance in the competition? Could he develop some skills, shock the world and win the trophy? Can his dancing erase the memory of getting outwitted by 10-day White House wonder Anthony Scaramucci? Tune in next week for the next chapter of this Spicey Tale.
