This is the Kia that we want the most. Of course, the odds of it coming to the US are only slightly better than, say, the country deciding it wants to be a British colony once again.

The Kia K4 Wagon has been spotted again, undergoing testing in Europe. The car is more uncovered than ever, showing off the opposites united design language in a shape that's much more attractive than the liftback-like sedan that's on sale in the US.

This Is The Replacement For The 'Reasonably-Priced Car'

Kia's K4 has replaced the Forte in the US, but in Europe, it is replacing the Ceed. While the US only got sedan and hatch versions of the Forte in the years before it was replaced, Europe gets the Ceed in hatch, wagon, shooting brake, and even as a lifted quasi-crossover model called the XCeed.

The Korean automaker hasn't confirmed the sedan will be sold in Europe this time around, but the K4 hatchback is about to go on sale. Now it's time for the other variants to arrive, at least the ones Kia plans to make. The K4 wagon is the first one of those we've seen, so it's safe to say it will be on sale first, too.

Last time we spotted this wagon, it was extremely well camouflaged. Now, most of the covering has come off. So we can tell that this will be a traditional wagon shape. It will have an upright hatch, helping to maximize cargo area, but it will also be stylish, especially at the rear. The K4 wagon has pronounced shoulders at the rear arches, and a tapering rear quarter window. It makes for a sleek shape despite the full-length roof rails.

Expect A Simplified Engine Selection

The third-generation Ceed offered six gas engine options and a pair of turbodiesels. At launch, Kia offers the K4 with just two, and both are gas. The first is a 113-horsepower 1.0-liter turbo. The second is a 1.6-liter turbo that makes 148 or 178 hp. A hybrid model will arrive later.

We're fans of the new K4. It comes loaded with luxury features and tech, as well as offering a large cargo and passenger space. This station wagon should deliver all of that, but with even more cargo space at the very back.
