There's a mysterious new electric hypercar coming to the Consumer Electronics Show next week. A company we can't find any information about is making some massive claims. Like nearly 1,900 horsepower, four motors, and what the company describes as the ability to switch between a "zero-sensation" ride and track-ready stiffness in moments.
It sounds like any number of the dozens upon dozens of supercar start-ups we heard from over the last several years. However, we think we already know a little something about this one. In fact, we may have already seen this new mega-car – in renderings, anyway.
A List Of Claims To Rival Everyone
The list of claims keeps going on like that. The suspension uses "active linear motors" to let it go softer than soft or stiffer than stiff. It will also have what the company calls "a dual-steering-wheel unlock mechanism," and we can't even guess what that is, but the company says it "caters directly to a new generation of Innovation Seekers and Performance Enthusiasts."
Its press release calls the car a showcase of "black technologies," and those are their quotes, not ours. The 1,877 horsepower from four electric motors is part of that, and is letting the company target a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio. The units aren't specified, but since this is a "new energy hypercar," which is marketing speak for an EV or PHEV, we're going to say it's kilograms and not pounds. Still impressive, but not quite as obscene.
Since it will be revealed at CES in 2026, the car will be AI-heavy. The company says it will have an AI coach that integrates the steer-by-wire system, an augmented reality head-up display, and its AI software to give customers game-like driving lines and pro-level tips as they tear up the track in their cars.
The company is called Kosmera, and every search we made took us to stories about the CES reveal with the same threadbare information we already have. The company's CEO is Winter Chen, and a search for the name didn't turn up any relevant results, either. It seems this company has somehow just materialized from thin air with a crazy-powerful car. That is, until we did some digging.
Is Kosmera Really Dreame Under A Scary Mask?
Failing to learn anything about the company, we started checking exhibitors at CES. Curiously, Kosmera isn't listed on the CES roster. However, Booth 7067 mentioned by Kosmera is marked as the booth of Dreame Innovation Technology, a smart appliance and home tech company in China. If that name sounds familiar, it's because we've mentioned it before. And the story it... strange.
