"Devotion" was one of the finest movies of 2022, but it didn't find the traction it deserved when it was released in theaters this past Thanksgiving. It's the first major studio release to tell a Korean War story since Gregory Peck starred in "Pork Chop Hill" in 1959.

The movie tells the story of the friendship between Jesse Brown, the first Black Navy aviator, and Thomas Hudner, who was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroism during the Korean War. Director JD Dillard is the son of Bruce Dillard, the second Black aviator to fly with the Blue Angels, and he brought a lot of passion to the movie.

Here's the good news for anyone who missed "Devotion" in theaters and everyone who wants to see it again: The movie will be available to stream on Paramount+, starting Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023. Paramount+ already has "Top Gun: Maverick" and every episode of "SEAL Team," so there's plenty of military entertainment content to keep you occupied. Subscriptions are $4.99/month with ads and $9.99/month ad-free after a seven-day free trial. Walmart+ members get the ad-supported version free as part of their subscription.

For readers who want nothing to do with another streaming service, "Devotion" will also be available to purchase on digital on Jan. 8 with two bonus featurettes included: "The Aviation of a Forgotten War" and "The Legacy of Jesse Brown."

We've got a clip from the bonus material that features actor and executive producer Glen Powell talking about the thrill of getting a vintage Sikorsky HO3S helicopter to use for the production.

This is a fast turnaround for a movie that deserved a much bigger audience in theaters. The production used many of the same newly developed camera techniques that made "Top Gun: Maverick" so thrilling, except this time they were capturing vintage Skyraider and Corsair aircraft from angles we've never seen before.

"Devotion" does a wonderful job of telling a story that Americans need to know. It's got fantastic aerial action and a moving portrayal of a friendship between aviators at a moment when the military was undergoing huge changes. Don't miss this chance to watch it at home.
