The new Pentagon report adds more detail regarding a troubling surge in suicides.

The VA's budget request for fiscal 2021 totals $243.3 billion -- a dramatic 10% increase from 2020.

The U.S. Air Force says 137 airmen across the active duty, Guard and Reserve died by suicide in 2019.

Lawmakers admonished the VA on Wednesday over reports of veterans committing suicide at its facilities.

The VA recently published a request for information intended to be used as "market research."

The IG staff found issues with the patient's care coordination and said it resulted in inadequate mental health assessments.

"We've lost more guys to suicide than we lost in the battle," said Jake Edwards, a former lance corporal.

Veterans will be contacted via phone, email or text to keep them abreast of available benefits and service.

The largest historical study to date on the topic has just been published.

It's perhaps unsurprising that the dominant themes have been turnover and conflict -- internal as well as external.
