Christopher Plummer and Mark Wahlberg in "All the Money in the World."

Ridley Scott's movie based on the real-life kidnapping of John Paul Getty III was almost derailed by a career implosion caused by revelations about actor Kevin Spacey's inappropriate behavior.

Fortunately, Christopher Plummer stepped into the role of oil tycoon John Paul Getty and reshot the part with Scott in just a couple of weeks, allowing the Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams movie to keep its release date. Plummer became the oldest person ever nominated for an acting Oscar for his work.

Scott, Wahlberg and Williams were all lucky here. If you dare, click here to see Kevin Spacey in the ridiculous makeup and prosthetics he glued to his face to play the old man.

"All the Money in the World" (out now on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD) is an excellent crime thriller starring Wahlberg as the former CIA agent who worked as Getty's fixer and Michelle Williams as the former daughter-in-law who wants to rescue her son after his grandfather refuses to pay the ransom.

The home video release includes 8 Deleted Scenes and three short documentary features. "Ridley Scott: Crafting a Historical Thriller" features the cast and crew talking about the awesomeness of their director. "Hostages to Fortune: The Cast" gives some background on the actors. "Recast, Reshot, Reclaimed" follows the unprecedented recasting of the character J. Paul Getty a little over a month before the film's theatrical release and manages to completely avoid mentioning Kevin Spacey's name.
