Military science-fiction series "The Last Ship" wrapped up its five-season run last fall on the TNT network, and now "The Last Ship: The Complete Series" arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on March 12. If you're up-to-date with past seasons, you can also get "The Last Ship: The Complete Fifth Season."
On the show, the crew of the USS Nathan James must come to terms with a new world after a global catastrophe decimates the population. Starring Eric Dane ("Grey's Anatomy"), Bridget Regan ("Agent Carter") and Adam Baldwin ("Firefly), "The Last Ship" plays like an earthbound (and more violent) version of "Star Trek."
The home video release comes loaded with extras, and we've got a clip in which the cast and crew discusses actor Bren Foster's background in martial arts and how the show used that for his character, SCPO Wolf Taylor.
The release includes a never-before-seen roundtable discussion with show creators and naval experts discussing the development of the series, as well as the collaboration with the U.S. Navy throughout all five seasons.
Other bonus content from past seasons includes behind-the-scenes featurettes, an inside look at various episodes and a 20-minute documentary showcasing how season four follows Homer's "The Odyssey" with Vincent Farenga, professor of Classics and Comparative Literature at the University of Southern California.
