Parris Island Centennial
On Nov. 1, 1915, Parris Island was designated as a Marine Corps recruit depot, and it has been the birthplace of new Marines ever since. This fall, Parris Island will celebrate its 100th year of making Marines with the culmination of the celebration occurring Oct. 16-17, 2015.
