Military adventure series "The Last Ship" keeps chugging along on TNT and they've just releasing the fourth season on Blu-ray/DVD on June 5. Season five will air later this year.
Season four is set up as a modern-day retelling of Homer’s “The Odyssey" and the home video release includes an exclusive 13-minute documentary that dives into Tom Chandler’s (Eric Dane) “hero’s journey” and the parallels between the two unforgettable storylines.
Season four of "The Last Ship" follows Chandler after he’s given up his heroic titles and responsibilities and sought solace – and anonymity – with his family in a small fishing village in Greece. Meanwhile, Captain Slattery (Baldwin) and the crew of Nathan James have discovered that the virus has “jumped kingdoms” and now infects the world’s food crops, bringing humanity to the brink of global famine. As the ship traverses the Mediterranean in search of a solution thatcan save the world’s food supply, Chandler encounters his own enemies in Greece.
We've got a clip from the exclusive documentary that features scenes from the latest season and commentary from USC Professor of Classics & Comparative Literature Vincent Farenga about Tom Chandler’s (Dane) relatability to Odysseus, as they both undergo major transformations after battle.
