VA's  comprehensive VA Dental Insurance Program (VADIP) gives veterans enrolled in the VA healthcare program and CHAMPVA beneficiaries  the opportunity to purchase dental insurance at a reduced cost.

This is a discounted civilian insurance program for veterans and their CHAMPVA beneficiaries only.

VADIP coverage includes diagnostic services, preventive services, endodontic and other restorative services, surgical services and emergency services.

VADIP began as a three-year, national pilot program to assess the feasibility and advisability of providing a premium-based dental insurance plan to eligible individuals. The VADIP pilot program began Jan. 1, 2014, and ended on Jan. 31, 2017.  Individuals who enrolled in the pilot program must re-enroll to participate in the new version of the program. The VADIP program was scheduled to end Dec. 31, 2021, but Congress passed a law making it permanent.

Coverage is provided by Delta Dental of California and MetLife. Multiple plan options allow individuals to select from several different levels of coverage at varying costs.

Coverage is only available in the U.S. and its territories. There is no open season for enrollment, you may enroll at any time.

Check out the VA's VADIP page for more information.
