February always seems to come in fast and furious. There's something about January's new routines, resolutions and slowly filling up calendars that makes us forget that it will be followed by a very short month.

This year, Valentine's Day may be sneakier than normal. It falls on a Sunday and is part of a long weekend with Presidents Day the following day.

If you've been putting off shopping, or aren't really sure what to do, check out these last-minute Valentine's Day gifts and get them ordered now.

For the Budding Chef

Date night dinners are fun, but we've learned that restaurants aren't the only place you can enjoy them. If your special someone likes to cook, consider an online cooking class, like the ones offered by Sur La Table. The interactive classes last from 90 minutes to two hours, and you can download the prep packet beforehand to get all your supplies. Best of all, it costs only $29 per class.

For the Traditionalist

Yes, the old standby will still work. Flowers and chocolates will never be refused, any day of the week. But if you want to make this gift even better, consider getting a plant that will last longer -- perhaps a succulent or something that can be transferred to the garden in the spring. Spice up chocolates with a bottle of their favorite drink or sparkling water. Or even get a full dessert spread.

For the Fun-Loving Friend

Games are fun, and there are so many to peruse, from board games to card games and everything in between. This year, consider a new game for your valentine. The "Talk, Flirt, Date" game box would be a fun, last-minute gift for Valentine's Day. It's easy and fun to play with other couple friends.

For the Quiet-Time Lover

Relaxation time is on a lot of wish lists this year, and you can definitely make that happen for your valentine. Bath bombs, a new lotion and candles make a great addition for a soothing bath. Not into baths? Try these shower steamers, which dissolve under the spray and make the shower feel like a haven.

For the Kids

For the kids in your life, there's no shortage of ideas for Valentine's Day. From Valentine's Day Legos to make-your-own jewelry box kits, there's something for every age. Younger kids love a special shirt to wear or socks with hearts on them. And don't forget to cook something heart-shaped that day.

For Your Furry Friends

Our beloved pets deserve a treat this year too, so don't forget them. Chewy has some cute cat toys that look like message hearts in its Valentine's Day Shop, as well as treats for dogs, cute water bowls and even some gifts for pet parents.

Whatever you decide, don't wait until the absolute last minute, especially if you're buying online. The mail system still hasn't quite gotten back to normal after the holiday season, and you don't want to be caught without a gift to give.
